The NHS Confederation

The NHS Confederation brings together the organisations that make up the modern National Health Service across the UK.

Working with their members to transform health and health services for the better, their role is to influence policy and public debate, connect health leaders through networking, tie together the numerous strands of the NHS and represent NHS employers. Their membership covers all types of statutory NHS organisation. The members are the organisations themselves, while the individuals actively involved in the Confederation on behalf of their organisation are from board level - chief executives, chairs, non-executives and directors.

The organisation has seen rapid growth over recent years with an aggressive recruitment policy, larger membership and a wider range of responsibilities handed to it by the Department of Health. This remarkable growth quickly overtook a website that was no longer able to support the organisation and was spiralling out of control. The organisation's web and publications team called upon Score Communications to design and implement a viable solution that would allow a small team to keep a handle on a network of websites with minimal cost and labour.

The focus of this solution was the implementation of a new content management system with added functionality (including surveys, forms, event information and publications) that could easily be managed in house. We worked in partnership with the NHS Confederation to re-build their core websites: www.nhsconfed.org and www.nhsemployers.org, by adding new functionality allowing for greater flexibility, access and control. We also produced a number of smaller campaign and event micro-sites for the organisation.
